WHAT WE DO

WELCOME TO MUNISTRATEGIES

MuniStrategies is a Rural Community Development Entity and 8-time New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocatee providing NMTC-enhanced lending for projects located in low-income communities in 7 southeastern states: MS, AL, AR, TN, GA, SC and FL. Since inception, we have invested over $350M of NMTC allocation in QALICBs, with over 85% in non-metro areas.

Our service area is the epicenter nationally for battling rural poverty and is largely encompassed by the service areas of the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) and Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). Our area’s greatest economic development needs are accessible, quality jobs and access to quality healthcare. Our region continues to suffer from lack of access to capital and generationally persistent poverty, particularly in rural areas.

We invest in projects and operating businesses in severely distressed, primarily rural areas that have the highest job creation impact or increase access to quality healthcare for low-income people. We invest in businesses that lack sufficient access to traditional capital and provide these under-banked businesses with NMTC funding to support needed community outcomes for LIPs.

Our staff works closely with organizations like DRA, ARC, and other regional and local stakeholders to create quality jobs, further workforce development strategies, improve access to quality healthcare and advance the impact of local development efforts.

MuniStrategies is part of Culleywood Capital’s (Mississippi-based CDFI Loan Fund) integrated community lending platform providing flexible, below-market financial products to organizations in LICs or serving Low-Income People (LIP).
